I have come down with a whooper of a viral something. It is currently camping in my throat, making general existence sucky. I have avoided writing because I write from my heart. If my heart is in a poo poo state, well, I think you get the picture.
I have decided it is way easier to take care of sick kids, then it is for mom to be sick taking care of healthy kids that have been cooped up for too long. Although, I would never wish this on them. Oliver had never really watched TV, and in the last few weeks while he has been mending and now waiting for me to heal up, I am afraid of the brain cells he has lost. He gets up in the morning and points to the TV!!! I am going to have to rip this band-aid off quickly when I am feeling better, I did try to take him outside yesterday and quickly discovered I could barely keep up to him. The fever has sucked my strength and my nineteen month old can run faster than me.
I was going to make a can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup last night for dinner, but then considered this. Why is something laced with MSG, BPA and gluten (poison for the intolerant) supposed to make you feel better? I called Ryan and had him grab a roast chicken. A couple of cartons of organic chicken stock, veggies, left over rice, I think I did much better. No awards, but I enjoyed it, and so did Oliver.
So enough dribble. I see my doctor today, Hooray for doctors!!! I will have antibiotics, day four of razor blade throat now accompanied by a fever demands it (I’ve taken my temperature at least a dozen times, obsess much?). I took enough painkillers last night to incapacitate a horse. Apparently the right cocktail of medication if you have screaming pain in your throat is a few extra strength Advil with some Tylenol migraine. (disclaimer, I am far from a medical professional, this is bad advice, don’t do it) with a honey halls tucked into your cheek while you sleep. I also gargled salt water, cayenne water, then salt water again. My sister recommended oregano oil, I did not have any, but did eye my spice jar, probably not the same.
I am looking forward to feeling better. I have been reading while sick a book on writing titled “Writing down the Bones” so I should be a literary genius by the time this is all said and done.
Enjoy this fantastic day. My goal is to clean my kitchen (Armageddon) and teach Oliver three new words to make up for the brain rot of television.
