Christmas for the Boys. Let’s go Camping!

Distressed Canvas Tent-

Distressed Canvas tent available at Restoration Hardware Kids

Each Christmas I search for the perfect gifts for my boys. Something that will hold their interest for longer than thirty minutes, not break in five, or have microscopic pieces that go missing immediately. Bringing on your preschoolers first meltdown of the day and have you searching for a half inch long sword in the shag throw rug. So while surfing online for inspiration, I was well inspired.

I  set up for real tents in our family room for Oliver. He loves it. Big bowl of popcorn, comfy sleeping bag, a little Netflix…so then I started thinking…….instead of setting up the giant ugly tent,  I could do something pretty, like that gorgeous teepee from Restoration Hardware (above). If you can’t find colours that match your home or your kid, I think you could totally make your own. There are tons of examples on Pinterest. So search away!

If you are tight on space, this style could be a better option. My twin sister has made these in the past, so I know it is doable, but my sister is pretty amazing.

I think I have died and gone to cuteness heaven. This bag would be so easy to make (if you can sew a little, or know someone), but I want to buy this one so bad. So. Bad. Couple cute woodland throw pillows, my little man would be glamping in style.

Of course they will need gear. I know a wolf cushion is not really gear, but this is going to be occasionally set up in my family room. Might as well make it look good.

Here are a few ideas:

Camp Accessories

1. Uncle Milton Starry Lantern , Amazon

2. Wolf Pillow, H&M Home

3. Educational Insights Grill-And-God Camp Stove, Amazon

4.Kids Felt Campfire Set, Etsy

There are so many options out there for setting up your little guy  in camping style.

You could make everything. You could make it all from recycled items. You could buy it all designer, hit the thrift stores or mix it up. You could also make this entire thing for a girl. I don’t have girls, but I imagine woodland fairies or adventure girls? I honestly don’t see why you would have to change one thing to make this for either boy or girl. You know your kids and your space. The great thing about this is I believe you can do the whole thing on any budget.

I had to post this picture, I’m dying. These types of photos just inspire me. I am already in deep thought over our playroom downstairs. Those string lights are beautiful.
